Work-Study

Overview of work-study

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program, which is through the U.S. Department of Education, provides funds for students with financial need, allowing IU Indianapolis students to earn money to offset some of the costs of higher education.

Approximately 3,000 IU Indianapolis students are offered work-study awards each academic year as part of their financial aid packages. Students can then secure a part-time job on campus or in approved community work-study (CWS) agencies to work and receive a biweekly paycheck.

Our office is happy to provide support and assistance as you navigate the hiring process for work study-students. If you have questions regarding work study, please feel free to email fwsjobs@iu.edu.
